Scope & timing guideThe business need
A lower processing rate only helps if it fits how a business collects and records payments. Invoice size, transaction count, current pricing, and the work needed to connect the systems all affect the decision.
How we approached it
Metriaq connects service selections, proposal signing, card or ACH payments, milestone charges, and recurring billing with QuickBooks. It also includes bill approvals and financial planning. For a client implementation, we scope the parts that fit the existing collection process and actual fees.
Current status
Based on an application used at Fire & Forge. Each client’s connections and payment-provider requirements need their own scope. The fee comparison below is an illustration, not a measured client result.
Would it fit your business?
Most useful when the payment costs or manual accounting handoffs are substantial enough to justify the implementation and upkeep. We compare simpler alternatives before recommending custom work.
Illustrative fee comparison
How a payment cap changes the fees
300 successful ACH payments of $10,000 each: $3 million collected in a year. At an uncapped 1%, base fees would be $30,000. At a $5 cap per payment, they would be $1,500.

Rates and assumptions
Uses QuickBooks’ published 1% ACH rate and Stripe’s standard US ACH rate of 0.8%, capped at $5 per successful payment. Legacy caps and negotiated rates can differ. This example concerns ACH, not credit cards. Rates checked October 12, 2026.
